In which cases is Endodontic Treatment applied?
If the patient is going to undergo root canal treatment, i.e. endodontics, he/she should learn some information about the tooth structure to better understand what this treatment is needed for. The tooth has 3 layers. One of these layers, the pulp, is located in the root canal inside the tooth. The pulp is a soft structure equipped with blood vessels and nerves to nourish the tooth.
If the tooth is infected and the infection has gone down to the pulp layer, it used to be absolutely necessary to extract the tooth. Because this tooth was irreversible. However, with the developing technology and treatment methods, it has become possible to clean this tooth from infection and return it to its former state.
How does the endodontic treatment process progress?
In our clinic, vital pulp treatments are performed to maintain the vitality of the tooth, as well as root canal treatments for teeth in which the dental pulp and surrounding tissues are damaged due to trauma, fracture, advanced caries and infection.
